KFC & Pizza Hut World Hunger Relief Campaign raises 3.6 Million

HOPE worldwide Malaysia alongside with 4 more NGOs: Food Aid Organization, Malaysian Red Crescent, Pertiwi Soup Kitchen and Kechara Soup Kithen were very honored to be invited to World Hunger Relief Charity Concert as to celebrate a great success for 2015, as KFC & Pizza Hut World Hunger Relief raised a total of 3.6 million, which the total fund collected had increased RM 1 million compared with last year's campaign.

The World Hunger Relief Charity Concert 2015 was graced by Her Royal Highness, The Queen of Johor, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah. Followed by her Majesty's welcome note, the Queen presented the Cheque Donations to all 5 beneficial Charity Organizations.

The World Hunger Relief Campaign had marked its ninth year of CSR effort by KFC & Pizza Hut. It began with a contribution of RM 0.50 per World Hunger Relief Meal from KFC & Pizza Hut which is purchased by the customers. Year after year, it gradually became an incredible fundraising campaign, with one sole purpose and objective, to ease the hunger among the nation.

Eventually it came to the highest point of the Charity Concert, we had Ning Baizura, Misha Omar and Anuar Zain taking turns to entertain us with their popular hit songs and ballads such as Ning's Awan Yang Terpilu, Misha's Bunga-Bunga Cinta and Anuar's Lelaki Ini.

This is the second year since we started our CSR Collaboration with KFC & Pizza Hut, as we look forward for sustainable working relationship to ease the hunger of the rural community, to continue to Bring HOPE, Change LIVES for the destitute. Orang Aslli in Kg Bukit Sapi Sharing Hearty Moments of KFC and Pizza Hut

31 May 2015, KFC & Pizza Hut's Sharing Moments Food Distribution to Kg. Bukit Sapi

In aid of World Hunger Relief Campaign, KFC & Pizza Hut work hand in hand with HOPE worldwide Malaysia to bring hearty moments to the rural community in Malaysia. On 31 May, total of 50 families were the invited guests for "KFC & Pizza Hut's Sharing Moments", where all of them received KFC and Pizza Hut Meals, alongside with groceries and basic necessities.

Since 2010, when HOPE worldwide Malaysia established the Orang Asli Outreach Program, we discovered the level of malnourished children and adults are in alarming stage. For the past many years, we've been bringing Medication and as well Groceries to these families.

We are so grateful that this year, we have KFC & Pizza Hut, who had donated a total of RM 100,000.00 to our cause, which enable us to create a bigger impact to these needy communities. Beside reaching out to the Orang Asli community, we will also reaching out to rural communitie n Kuching, Sarawak. And the next "Sharing Moments" in Kuching, will be on 27 June.

Total of 35 volunteers, which including the volunteers from KFC & Pizza Hut, reaching out to 50 families in Kg. Bukit Sapi. Beside bringing them food, we have 5 volunteer doctors with us, to provide free medication.

KFC & Pizza Hut Malaysia World Hunger Relief Campaign Creates Greater Impact

In spite of the world's technology & development excel in many ways, there are people who still barely meet their daily basic needs like things that you and I would be the least worry about: FOOD

KFC & Pizza Hut Malaysia take the initiative to support the World Hunger Relief (WHF) Campaign in raising awareness and as well raising funds by the sales generated from their outlets.

HOPE worldwide Malaysia, Pertiwi, Kechara Soup Kitchen and Malaysia Red Cresent Society are very honored to be selected as the beneficial NGOs of the World Hunger Relief Campaign. Together, we carry the same mission in giving Food & Nutrition to the marginalized community.

HOPE worldwide Malaysia receives the donation of RM 100,000.00, which this funding will be fully utilized in Food Distribution Program for the Orang Asli Community in Perak and as well the rural community in Kuching, Sarawak. Besides providing food provision such as groceries and basic necessities, the community will receive KFC & Pizza Hut Combo Meals.

Thanks to KFC & Pizza Hut for selected HOPE worldwide Malaysia for this meaningful collaboration, and as well each and everyone of you who used to dine-in at any of the KFC or Pizza Hut outlets, you gained not only the memorable moments with friends and family in KFC or Pizza Hut, but as well the fulfillment of contributing into a noble cause, which eventually you give memorable moments to these marginalized families too.
