Yayasan WWRC bridges love to Orang Asli Community in Kg. Jerum Lesung

27 July 2019, Orang Asli Outreach at Kg. Jerum Lesung by Yayasan WWRC

Love builds bridges where there are none. And love binds the staff from WWRC Malaysia together for a good cause in a bright shining Saturday afternoon. A total of 25 staff volunteer in reaching out to the Orang Asli community in Kg. Jerum Lesung by bringing food aid, medical health check and the sumptuous KFC Meals to them.

Thanks to Yayasan WWRC for your generous sponsorship and this is the first CSR Collaboration which it marked a truly memorable time together. Besides bringing the food aid, the staff also planned games and activities to engage with the children.

As part of the KFC Sharing Moments initiatives, the staff and community shared happy moments together by sharing the KFC Meals, which it lightened up the day of the families and the children.

Kudos to all our health check team led by our volunteer doctor - Dr. Peter Gan and his team of volunteers. Providing basic health check which it included blood pressure and sugar level check, and BMI test, giving advice and consultation to the community to cultivate healthy lifestyle habits.

Our gratitude also goes to the community who welcomed us with their handmade crowns.

A big thank to Yayasan WWRC and WWRC Malaysia for the amazing CSR collaboration and we look forward for more working opportunities in the future!

B Braun Reaching Out to Orang Asli Community in Kampung Desa Ria

30 July 2019, Orang Asli Outreach Program cum KFC Sharing Moments at Kg. Desa Ria

Thanks to B. Braun for engaging their staff to volunteer in the Orang Asli Outreach Program at Kg. Desa Ria last Sunday! Total of 25 staff spent their day reaching out to the Orang Asli Community, distributing groceries and KFC Meals through the KFC Sharing Moments Initiatives, at the same time, participated in the Health Education Program, which including giving deworm medicines to the children, hair washing and distributing the Vaseline Petroleum Jelly to the families.

We want to thank B. Braun for the continuous support and trust in our works through the Mobile Free Clinic which they donated a total of RM 170,000.00 last year to support the operation of the Free Mobile Clinic Program. This year, B Braun took the CSR collaboration to a higher level by engaging their staff to reach out to the grassroots.

Part of the outreach programs - B Braun Volunteers washing the children's hair. It wasn't an easy task as the volunteers spent their time to clean the hair lies thoroughly before finally using the shampoo to clean their hair.

Children activity was certainly the highlight of the program. The volunteers got to team up with the children to play tug of war together.

Staedtler Malaysia World Kids Colouring Day 2019

29 June 2019, Staedtler World Kids Colouring Day at Tesco Extra Puchong

After 6 years, we were so honoured to be invited again by Staedtler Malaysia as one of the beneficial NGOs for the World Kids Colouring Day! This year, the WKCD was held at Tesco Extra Puchong. Together with us were four nonprofit organizations, they were BRDB Rotary Children Residence, Yayasan Chow Kit, Pertubuhan Rumah Anak Yatim Berkat Kasih and Pusat Jagaan Kasih Murni.

Just like the previous years, our children performed a singing performance on stage with two songs "Burung Kakak Tua" and "If You Are Happy". It definitely brought back lots of wonderful memories with Staedtler Malaysia! Besides us, each organization deliver a special performance. We were so impressed by their creativity and talents. Kudos to all the nonprofit workers who gave their best to nurture the children and youths talents.

One of the delightful moments for the children was the Colouring Contest. Each kid paid the utmost attention to complete their artwork. We were thrilled when one of our children's artwork was selected as the winner as first runner-up. Good job Syazwana!



At the end of the event, each organization received a donation of RM 1,000.00 and Staedtler products. Besides, Tesco Malaysia also donated their products and cash vouchers of RM 200.00 for each organization. Thank you so much for your generosity!





Our gratitude goes to all the Staedtler workers who have put their hearts, mind and effort in making this event a successful one, and a memorable one for all of the children.

Thanks to Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur for the continuous support for our families through the RiseHY Initiatives.

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur engaged their management team and staff to spend a fruitful day, visiting our families and conducting Career Talk to the youths and families in our centre, aspiring the youths aged 16 to 24 years old to launch a career with them in the hospitality industry.

By the end of the session, the families were treated with a feast specially prepared by the Chef from Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. And each family also receive loads of groceries, school items and basic necessities.



On behalf of the families, we just want to express their heartfelt gratitude toward Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, your thoughtfulness in reaching out to them, giving their children aspiration and job opportunity have just lifted up their spirit, to rise above whatever situations they are having right now and continue to fight for their future! Thanks to the awesome team from Grand Hyatt, and we look forward to the next program!

Baiwago Plus Cafe Celebrates Motherhood with 50 Mothers and Single Moms

“Mother’s Day Give Back”

While we celebrate Mother’s Day with our moms by showering them with flowers, gifts and a Cake, there are mothers out there who do not have plenty to celebrate. This year, Baiwago Plus Café collaborates with HOPE worldwide Malaysia to celebrate Motherhood with 50 mothers which include single mothers from the low-income families in Sentul.

To make ends meet, these mothers often hold on to at least two jobs, while juggling their time to take care of their children and household matters. Hence, Baiwago Plus Café decided to collaborate with HOPE worldwide Malaysia, an internationally affiliated non-profit and non-religious Charity Organization to reach out to 50 mothers and single moms in Sentul. Total of 50 Cakes will be given away to all 50 mothers. These Mother’s Day Themed Cakes are specially made and sponsored by Baiwago as a gesture of appreciation to the mothers.

The mothers and staff volunteers gathered at Centre of HOPE worldwide Malaysia this afternoon for the Give Back event. “We are grateful towards Baiwago’s thoughtfulness in organizing this event to appreciate our mothers and single moms from the Sentul community. Their sacrifices and motherhood are something worth celebrated for,” said Katy Lee, the Executive Director of HOPE worldwide Malaysia. She added on that some of these mothers often work overtime to support the family finances and raising up their children tirelessly. Katy also shared about one of the mothers, Puan Haliza who lost her husband in a sudden tragedy three years ago, despite her grief and sadness, still being the pillar of strength for her 5 children, one of which is a special needs child who suffers from cerebral palsy.

Besides supporting these mothers through the Free Medical Clinic and Monthly Food Distribution Program, the children of these mothers also invited to attend a series of Education programs on Saturdays. HOPE worldwide Malaysia worked with volunteers from corporate sectors and campuses to reach out to these children aged from 6 to 17 years old. “We hope that we can cultivate a sustainable partnership with corporate companies such as Baiwago Plus Café to create a greater social impact for our communities,” said Katy. KFC Sharing Moments at Jerum Lesung (2019 Q1)

Last Saturday, our volunteers shared wonderful moments with the Orang Asli Community in Jerum Lesung, Jelebu. Our volunteers brought KFC Meals and groceries to 30 families. Besides, bringing food aid, our volunteers also organized hygiene education activities - hand washing and teeth brushing. The children and volunteers have had a wonderful time together!

We would like to extend our gratitude for volunteers from Mercy Malaysia and Dr Peter Gan who tag along with us, reaching out to the children and families.

Once again, bravo job to our coordinators Bruce & June for the great works being done!

Thank you Add Hope Malaysia and KFC Malaysia who made this Sharing Moment a sustainable program for the rural community across our nation!

Poplook Aims to Give Hope This Year with New Sari Yanti Collaboration

Every year, POPLOOK teams up with public personalities who share their vision to give back to the community through fashion. This year is no different. To address the needs of children living in poverty via the organisation HOPE worldwide Malaysia, Poplook and Malaysian actress, Sari Yanti will be launching a special capsule collection.

In a private tete-a-tete with the brand last August, Sari Yanti discussed motherhood; the joys, challenges, and everything in between. The discussion brought everyone inevitably to the impact of rising costs on already underprivileged families.

“As a mother, I understand the desire I have to give my children the best of everything but I have seen how rising costs have affected our spending decisions. I can only imagine how hard it must be for families already struggling to make ends meet. I am excited to be part of this initiative to make a difference in what small way I can in the lives of children in need,” says Sari Yanti about her decision to collaborate.

“We’re excited to have Sari Yanti join us in our 5th cycle of the Poplook Gives Back Collection. In our daily lives, we tend to get caught up in ourselves and our needs. These initiatives help us see a little more into the lives of others, reflect on our blessings, and give back to those in need. We’ve been able to donate to some very worthwhile charities through these collections. Whoever said fashion and giving back cannot co-exist?” says Maryanne, co-CEO of Poplook.

The collection itself is a combination of Sari Yanti’s personal style and with the theme hope in mind. To symbolise hope, the design team selected the classic pearl. “Why the pearl? Just like an oyster that creates something valuable with what is essentially irritants; through this collection, we want to create a brighter future for children in challenging circumstances,” explains Poplook’s fashion designer, Nik Amanina Liyana.  Eight out of the 10 pieces in the collection will feature the pearl prominently.

The 10-piece collection will feature soft blouses, trousers, and even weighted knits in earthy, soft tones. The specially curated collection also includes a floral pantsuit in a structured fabric specially requested by the actress.

The collection is limited edition and will not be reproduced once sold out. Poplook pledges 25% of total sales to HOPE worldwide Malaysia to support children in need. The POPLOOK Gives Back initiative aims to continue supporting charities and initiatives that focus on the needs of women and children.

“Our customers are the reason Poplook exists in the way we do today, and since they are women, and mostly mothers, we want to focus on organisations that work on issues concerning them. It is our tribute to the amazing women, our customers, who keep us going every day,” says, Maryanne
