Levi's Makes a Difference during their Retail Conference this year at Hilton Kuala Lumpur by dedicating their Global CSR Initiatives "Community Day" to warm the hearts of the underprivileged community in Sentul.

The Community Day was held during the final day of the Retail Conference, where retailers from all around the world assembled for a fun and excited activity - "Grab & Wrap". Before this, Levi's had purchased the groceries and during the "Grab & Wrap" activity, everybody grab the groceries according to the wrapping list, and wrap the required groceries into a beautiful hamper, which is going to be distributed to the beneficial family. Not only that, every hamper comes with thoughtful cards written by Levi's retailers.

And by the end of the conference, we have 10 representatives from Levi's who went with us to distribute the groceries hampers to the beneficial families at their homes. The families who received the hampers were so grateful and they kept thanking the volunteers from Levi's. Beside distributing the hamper, we also packed dinner for them, and the children of each family received MPH Bookstore Cash Vouchers worth RM 20.00

Thanks to Levi's for the thoughtful CSR initiatives, and in conjunction with the Community Day, Levi Strauss Co donated RM 12,000.00 for implementation of HOPE worldwide Malaysia's community programs that focused on Health & Medical, Food & Nutrition and Education & Empowerment.

KFC & Pizza Hut Malaysia World Hunger Relief Campaign Creates Greater Impact

In spite of the world's technology & development excel in many ways, there are people who still barely meet their daily basic needs like things that you and I would be the least worry about: FOOD

KFC & Pizza Hut Malaysia take the initiative to support the World Hunger Relief (WHF) Campaign in raising awareness and as well raising funds by the sales generated from their outlets.

HOPE worldwide Malaysia, Pertiwi, Kechara Soup Kitchen and Malaysia Red Cresent Society are very honored to be selected as the beneficial NGOs of the World Hunger Relief Campaign. Together, we carry the same mission in giving Food & Nutrition to the marginalized community.

HOPE worldwide Malaysia receives the donation of RM 100,000.00, which this funding will be fully utilized in Food Distribution Program for the Orang Asli Community in Perak and as well the rural community in Kuching, Sarawak. Besides providing food provision such as groceries and basic necessities, the community will receive KFC & Pizza Hut Combo Meals.

Thanks to KFC & Pizza Hut for selected HOPE worldwide Malaysia for this meaningful collaboration, and as well each and everyone of you who used to dine-in at any of the KFC or Pizza Hut outlets, you gained not only the memorable moments with friends and family in KFC or Pizza Hut, but as well the fulfillment of contributing into a noble cause, which eventually you give memorable moments to these marginalized families too.

Country Garden CNY Celebration with Sentul Community

Special thanks to Country Garden for the thoughtful post CNY celebration for the Sentul community. The highlight of the day was the Lion Dance Performance which lighted up the Saturday afternoon and captured everybody's attention. After the Lion Dance Performance, Country Garden's representatives together with our volunteers distributed groceries to the community and Ang Paos for children.

BHP Billiton Gives Back - Food Distribution Program

07 September 2013, BHP Billiton Food Distribution Program

Thanks to fellow volunteers from BHP Billiton who had contributed the groceries for 115 beneficial families!

Their effort is truly commendable as each and every volunteer personally purchase the groceries which include milk powder, rice, cooking oil, biscuits, noodles, Milo and other basic necessities. The milk powder also benefited the babies from the underprivileged families. Beside milk powder for babies, the fellow volunteers from BHP Billiton also contirbuted milk powder for senior citizens.

Last weekend, we have more than 15 volunteers from BHP Billiton who volunteered in the Food Distribution Program, distributing the groceries to the poor families.

Thanks to the fellow volunteers from BHP Billiton for your kindness and generosity. We look forward to welcome the volunteers to involve in upcoming Education Programs during the month of October!

Community & Volunteerism Workshop - BHP Billiton

24 & 25 July 2013, Community & Volunteerism Workshop at BHP Billiton Corporate Office

It is our honor to conduct the Community & Volunteerism Workshop for the staff at BHP Billiton Corporate Office. It was a 2-days training with more than 100 staffs attended the workshop.

On 24 & 25 July 2013, HOPE worldwide Malaysia was invited by BHP Billiton to conduct the Community & Volunteerism Workshop to create awareness among the staffs about
1. The needs of the underprivileged community: Who are they and tackle their needs?
2. Charity Organization: Know your charity organization and its good cause
3. Volunteerism: What is the role that we can play in helping the underprivileged besides giving donations?

It was a fruitful session together with the staff and was a great experience for us. During the workshop, we had the opportunity to present the testimonies of some volunteers who used to work with us, and as well some life changing stories of our beneficial families.

BHP Billiton eventually signed up for a Food Donation, which the staffs contributed groceries for the Food Distribution Program.

We look forward for more opportunities to conduct the Community & Volunteerism workshop to corporate companies to gain the awareness about individual's responsibility to contribute to charity in Malaysia.

Instill the Spirit of Volunteerism from young

21/01/2012, Food Distribution Program at Sentul Clinic of HOPE

Our first Food Distribution Program for 2012! For a fresh anew beginning of 2012, we were so blessed to have a group of 5 children to be the volunteers in helping the Food Distribution Program.

I was so touched to see how passionate they are in helping and serving the poor and needy.

As it was near to the Chinese New Year, we prepared some Ang Paos and the kids just so excited to distribute the Ang Paos to the underprivileged children.

It's good to instill the spirit of volunteerism in them since young, they learned to be grateful and as well respect those who are less fortunate than us.

Food Distribution with Berjaya Corporation Berhad

Thanks to Berjaya Foundation who sponsored the Food Distribution Program for 2011 so the 70 beneficial families have monthly groceries. This day, we had the volunteers from Berjaya Corporattion Berhad and as well volunteers from Starbucks Malaysia to join this program! This was indeed encouraging to see many people were so eager in volunteerism and helping the less fortunate! Together, we can build a loving and caring community in Malaysia for the underprivileged!

Thanks again to CIMB Aviva for your 100% involvement in reaching out to the poor and needy community in Sentul! You had made the this festive season so special and memorable - Deepavali, a Festive of Light and Hope!

The Monthly Food Distribution was indeed a meaningful one because of the consistent support from each and everyone - one of them were CIMB Aviva! Thanks for giving a helping hand, even though just being there to hand over the groceries to the poor and needy, I believe this simple gesture had touched their hearts.
