Thanks to DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur for bringing 15 of our children to IPC Shopping Centre recycling & buy back centre to educate them about the immense benefits of recycling and its effect in creating a sustainable living environment for our mother earth.

The children were given a tour at the Recycling Centre and as well learning how the recycling process works.

The Earth Week program ended with a lunch treat at Wendy's

This year, alongside with our Single Mothers, the female staff of DoubleTree by Hilton KL were invited to the talk too. It was a thoughtful activity in honoring the Women and as well giving them knowledge on self-motivation and self-safety.

DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur CARE Committee Outing to Zoo Negara

25 September 2017, DoubleTree by Hilton KL CARE Committee Outing to Zoo Negara

15 kids from the Reading Program elementary learners group had a fruitful day with the CARE Committee of DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur at Zoo Negara! Thanks to the CARE Committee thoughtfulness in organizing this outing for our children which they all had a chance in experiencing preparing the food and feeding the food to the animals in the zoo.

It was a great exposure for these children to learn more about these animals in the zoo. While experiencing a "hands-on" food preparation with guidance from the zoo staff, the children directly learned to care for the needs of these animals.

Besides, feeding the animals, the children also had a chance to have a closer look on the Giant Pandas. It was indeed a very fruitful and interesting outing we had with the volunteers from DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur.

DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur's volunteers teach kids about Energy Saving

25 March 2017, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur Earth Hour Program 

It was our privilege to be invited by DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur to the Earth Hour program every year. This year, we appreciate the effort by the staff who organize this year's Earth Hour Program by conducting an Energy Saving talk for the kids to help them understand the objective of Earth Hour and what is our role in protecting our earth and environment.

The kids' favorite was the Torch Light making session. The torch light is made with the recycled bottle by connecting a light bulb to a battery. Thanks to all the volunteer staff for being patient in guiding our kids. After making the torch light, that's where we had the official Earth Hour as we switch off the light for an hour and all the kids light up their torch lights.

DoubleTree by Hilton KL Instilling Confidence to Single Mothers

11 March 2017, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur's International Women's Week Single Mothers Outreach Program

In conjunction with International Women's Day, we are so privileged as 11 Single Mothers were invited to DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur to have a day of motivational talk, learning and pampering sessions.

We wanna thank DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur for your kind invitation, the thoughtfulness and efforts in organizing the program with the activities that have brighten up the day of these 11 Single Mothers. Be Bold for Change is the theme for this year's International Women's Day. Align with the theme, DoubleTree by Hilton invited two influential individuals and a company to inspire our Single Mothers.

Firstly we would like to thank Ms. Betty Yeoh, the Project Director of All Women's Action Society (AWAM) who delivered a motivational talk entitled "How to Move Forward". The talk conveyed a inspirational vision and assurance to all Single Mothers to believe in their strength and capability, continue fighting for the future of their own and their children. And we want to thank DSP Foo Chek Seng from Bukit Aman for conducting a beneficial talk entitled "Safety Awareness" for the mothers on how to stay alert and vigilant toward robbery cases.

After two motivational and beneficial talks, we have Mary Kay Beauty Consultants who volunteered their time to conduct a facial and pampering session for our mothers. All of the mothers who always on the run - work to earn a living, running errands for the children, taking care of the needs of the family, you name it! So they could hardly have time to think about their needs. Thanks to Mary Kay Beauty Consultant who granted a precious "ME" time for these mothers. Some of them even was the first time to apply Facial Mask, drawing eyeliner and mascara.

The program ended by a generous lunch treat by DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur at the renowned Makan Kitchen.

Once again, we want to thank DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur for drawing Happy Smiles on these Single Mothers' faces. You have indeed leave an impact in these mother lives, given them encouragement to move on in their lives!

DoubleTree by Hilton KL CARE Committee Create Christmas Memories for Children

Thanks to the awesome and big-hearted CARE Committee members from DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur who had our kids at their premises last Saturday to learn about personal hygiene and as well, having a great time celebrating Christmas!

Our children had a great time learning together with the CARE Committee our personal hygiene. Especially the detailed description and explanation about how germs spread and harm our health. It creates awareness among the children to take care of their personal hygiene.

Our gratitude goes to each and every CARE Committee who personally purchased Christmas present for our children according to their age and gender. By the end of the session, DoubleTree by Hilton KL gave all of our children a lunch treat at Makan Kitchen.

DoubleTree by Hilton KL CARE Committee taught children about Waste Separation

24 June 2016, Teaching Kids to CARE Session "Waste Separation" at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur

Thanks to DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur CARE Committee for organizing another successful session with its objective to educate children about the effectiveness of "Waste Separation".

We would like to appreciate all 12 CARE Committee (staff volunteers from DoubleTree by Hilton KL) who made this Teaching Kids to CARE event a wonderful session for 31 children from HOPE worldwide Malaysia.

Th activities including teambuilding games like stacking mineral water bottles, recognizing the different colors of recycling bucket and more. The kids and the staff volunteers had so much fun together. We also wanna thank DoubleTree by Hilton KL for preparing the Buka Puasa dinner for all of us.

We were very thankful to have the newly appointed General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Axel to join us in presenting awards to our children. We look forward for more exciting and fruitful Teaching Kids to CARE sessions with the CARE Committee!

DoubleTree by Hilton KL's "Shadow Story" Earth Hour 2016

Thanks to DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur for inviting us to the Earth Hour 2016! This year the theme is "Shadow Story" hence of the main activities was for the kids to be assigned in different groups, and each group to come out of a Shadow Play about how to protect and save our Earth.

After the presentation of the Shadow Play, the kids and volunteers assemble the Glow Cap together and when we moved to the poolside in dark, we saw an incredible scene of all caps glowing in dark. With the candles that showing 60+, we took one of the most beautiful group photos of Earth Hour 2016.

Each year DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur's CARE Committee give all their hearts and passion in teaching underprivileged children how to Care for themselves and the environment they are living. Earth Hour has been one of the CARE Committee core focus, and we are very honored to be part of it.

Through Books For CARE CSR Initiatives since 2013, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur raised awareness among the tenants and workers nearby KLCC area to donate their story books to DoubleTree by Hilton KL, eventually the books collected are all donated to Charity Organizations and Children Homes. HOPE worldwide Malaysia is very privileged to be one of the recipients of this CSR Initiatives, and end of the Earth Hour program, each kids brought home some storybooks and they were very excited!

HOPE worldwide Celebrates 15th Anniversary in the Spirit of Volunteerism

06 December 2015, HOPE worldwide Malaysia 15th Anniversary "Glitters of Hope" Charity Gala at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur

Last Sunday, HOPE worldwide Malaysia celebrated our 15th Anniversary with over 500 donors and volunteers at the “Glitters of Hope” Charity Gala which was held at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur.

The event was entirely organized by the volunteers of HOPE worldwide Malaysia, some of them were volunteers since the day HOPE worldwide Malaysia was established. Even the on stage performances were delivered by volunteers. Besides the volunteers, the Corporate and Individual Donors are the guests of the evening too. Together, we shared joyous moment in celebrating the milestone of impacting more than 75,000 community members in Malaysia through community programs that focused on Health & Medical, Food & Nutrition and Education & Empowerment.

The event kicked started with a 15-Year Milestone Video, showing the list of Community Programs that were established based on the core focus on Health & Medical, Food & Nutrition and Education & Empowerment. Right after the video, we have our celebrity host of the night, Mr. Terrence Dass, who is also a volunteer of HOPE worldwide Malaysia since 2006. Terrence has been our faithful hosts for our fundraising events in the past 15 years, i.e. the 2nd and 3rd BOLATHON Charity Fun Run & Masquerade Walk.

Welcome Speech by 2015 Elected Chairman, Mr. Burt Ong

Our Country Director of HOPE worldwide Malaysia, Mr. Darick Wong delivered a touching and inspiring speech that gave the event a great atmosphere to start with.

Then we had our Youth Volunteers who delivered a energetic STOMP performance to woww the crowd and followed with our Life-Changing Stories of our beneficial families documented by our volunteers.

Thanks to our volunteers Alan Wong and Michelle Siaw who belted out great singing performances to entertain our fellow guests. An appreciation video was shown to appreciate corporate companies who used to sign up as volunteers in our centre and also community programs. Among those who were our long term corporate partners were Starbucks Malaysia, Adidas and Astro Kasih, those photos brought us back to the memory lane. The corporate appreciation session came with a surprise singing performance by the full-time staff of HOPE worldwide Malaysia, Caesar Teh.

The emotional part of the event was Appreciation and Acknowledgement to our Clinic Manager, Sister Mona Chin, who served the Free Clinic since its establishment. An Portrait Video was shown to our guests, Mona shared her heartfelt feelings and personal experiences while serving the needy in the Free Clinic for the past 15 years. Right after the Video, Mona was invited to be on stage to receive a Plaque and a gift as acknowledgement for her dedication.

The highlight of the evening was no other than the Raffle Draw session, which guests were invited to purchase the raffles tickets, and all money collected are channeled to HOPE worldwide Malaysia. The Grand Prize was a 2D1N Stay at The St. Regis Langkawi worth RM 2,800.00, won by Ms. Pon Soh Fen, who is also a volunteer of HOPE worldwide Malaysia.
