BOLATHON Charity Fun Run & Masquerade Walk - Our Story
What is BOLATHON?
BOLATHON is a fundraising
event inspired by the 4-year-once Global Football Event,
and it is solely organized by Persatuan Kebajikan HOPE worldwide Kuala Lumpur.
This SPORTS-THEMED
event assembles all Nations & Races for a good cause! The participants will
dress up themselves with the Football theme (or anything with their creativity)
and go for a 3KM walkathon.
This is the essence of
the entire event, hence we named it
BOLATHON Charity Masquerade
Walk
Its Objective is to
raise funds for HOPE worldwide Malaysia’s Community Programs for the
underprivileged which focus on Health, Food & Education.
The History of BOLATHON
The first debut of BOLATHON was in year 2006!

| The 1st Bolathon in 2006 was officiated by YB Mr. Ng Lip Yong, who was the Deputy Minister of National Trade & Industry. Our list of corporate sponsors were Adidas, Cadbury, Dominos Pizza, Fitness First, Gardenia, Hotel Equatorial, King’s Confectionery, Lion Group, Nestle Malaysia, Friday’s, Dentyne and Wood’s |
This event brings
friends and family together for a recreational moment, it also promotes team
work spirit.

The 2nd BOLATHON on 2010 was another great excitement!
It was held in TTDI Taman Rimba and we had bigger
crowd and worked with more corporate sponsors.
We also had the
corporate sponsors to form their football teams and play against with each other.
HOPE worldwide volunteers also form a football team ourselves!
The 3rd BOLATHON on 2014 was even greater with a total of 2,400 participants!
It was held in Padang Merbok and we had bigger crowd this time as we added another category - 10KM Fun Run.
The greatest attraction of the event was the Medal that sponsored by Adidas!

Sun Life Malaysia SHiNE Resolution Run 2018 raised RM 80,000.00 to HOPE worldwide Malaysia
SHiNE Resolution Run 2018 at Taman Botani Perdana Kuala Lumpur
Congratulations to Sun Life Malaysia for yet another successful SHiNE Resolution Run that assembled a total of 3,000 participants, while setting their minds to pursue health, wealth, personal growth and attitude as their new year resolutions, these participants also gathered together for a noble cause.
The SHiNE Resolution Run has raised a total of RM 240,000.00 and the profits are all donated to Diabetes Malaysia and HOPE worldwide Malaysia.
To dedicate our appreciation to Sun Life Malaysia, a team of 17 Zumba Kids performed "Can't Help the Feelings" Zumba Dance on the stage. This is the second year of the Zumba Kids program since it is started in 2016.
During the cheque presentation, we had our Basketball Clinic youths to be on stage too. It was a exciting moment to see these youths, to see them growing from someone who didn't know how to play basketball till today, they have shown dedication, commitment and teamwork together, as they have just won their first Friendly Match last year.
Thanks to Sun Life Malaysia for your continuous support and effort to work with us to cultivate healthy lifestyle for the low income families and children. We look forward to create more #BrighterYOU moments in 2018!

Children & Adults Sing with Happiness at Mary Kay Seminar 2014
13 September 2014, Cheque Presentation to HOPEww & Children Choir Performance at Mary Kay Seminar 2014
Children Choir Performance marked the height of Mary Kay Seminar 2014's atmosphere as the Children and Adults sang and danced together for the song - "If You Are Happy and You Know it!"
In conjunction with Mary Kay's Global CSR Initiatives - Beauty that Counts, HOPE worldwide Malaysia is selected to be the beneficial NGO in Malaysian's Chapter. The funds was raised through the sales of the Limited Edition Fragrance of Beauty that Counts Campaign, In total, Mary Kay had raised a total of RM 30,000.00 for HOPE worldwide Malaysia's Food Distribution Program that impacted 100 low income group families from all races in Sentul.
Hence, total of 22 children from Sentul were invited to attend the Mary Kay Seminar 2014, to share the glorious moment of Cheque Presentation with a donation of RM 30,000.00. To grace this occasion, the Children of HOPE, formed a Choir Performance, which eventually made all Beauty Consultants and Sales Directors of Mary Kay sang and danced together.
By the end of the performance, the Children of HOPE presented a bookmark for the guests and delegates of the seminar, as a token of appreciation from HOPE worldwide Malaysia.
Thanks to Mary Kay for your continuous and generous support, trusting us in our cause to Bringing HOPE & Changing LIVES of the Underprivileged in Malaysia.

St. Patrick Society raises funds for 12 Charity Bodies

We would like to thank St Patrick Society of Selangor for your fundraising effort in organizing the Charity Dinner to raise funds for 12 Charity Organizations in Malaysia.
It was such a great privileged for HOPE worldwide Malaysia's Country Director Mr. Darick Wong & Executive Director Ms. Katy Lee to be invited to the Embassy of Ireland, together with the other representatives from different NGOs to attend the Cheque Presentation Ceremony

The addition of HOPE worldwide Malaysia’s maiden 10 kilometres Fun Run to its Bolathon – Charity 3km Masquerade Walk 10km Fun Run on its third anniversary held in conjunction with FIFA World Cup once every four years, had over 2800 football aficionados and
enthusiasts
gathering before sunrise on a Sunday morning.
There were
best-dressed prizes up for grabs for individual and group category whereby,
participants were encouraged to have their photo taken at the Photo Booth tent
to take part in the contest. Grazing their presence at this year’s Bolathon was a family
of Superheroes with the toddler attending to mischief as Superman. Also present
were Captain America, Spiderman, Minions and other well-known characters. “My
kudos goes out all those who participated and supported the fundraising event.
It is tremendous to have so many enthusiasts who rise up and unite for an
initiative to better serve the underprivileged
communities in
Malaysia.
It was a sensationally calm morning with minimal noise pollution to
also enjoy the perks of DBKL’s Car Free Morning. The proceeds from Bolathon will be
channelled towards HOPE’s flagship programmes centred on Health, Education and
Nutrition such as Free Health Clinics, Reading and Food
Distribution”, said Darick Wong, Country
Director of HOPE worldwide Malaysia. Following the Run, there was a Friendly Futsal match held where corporate sponsors
registered teams to compete against each other. Hyundai took first place
followed by DoubleTree by Hilton as the first-runner up.
Participating for the first time, Nor Athirah from Kota Kemuning said, “I feel extremely excited to join other participants
for a great cause. It is a good initiative for the public as it improves our
well-being and also an opportunity to bond with family and participate in Bolathon together”.
HOPE worldwide
Malaysia will look forward to host the Fourth Bolathon in 2018 and continuously identify opportunities to enrich
as a unique family-friendly event and the 10km Fun Run is here to stay.
