Dow Chemical STEM Robotics Education Program Changes Lives of 10 Youths

22 May 2017, Dow Chemical STEM Robotics Education Program Phase 1 Graduation at Le Meridian Kuala Lumpur

Yesterday we witnessed 10 youths, graduating their First Phase of Robotics Education Program sponsored by Dow Chemical!

It has been an exciting journey with these 10 youths since we commenced our STEM Robotics Education Program with Dow Chemical since November 2016. We witnessed the life changing process of these 10 youths. From being uncertain during the learning process in the beginning till seeing their passion growing through breaking through and overcoming the learning obstacles, we see them beaming with joy when they finally got their programming format worked for their first robotic assembly.

To learn Robotics should be something almost impossible for these youths to obtain as the learning cost is high. But thanks to Dow Chemical who sees the potential in them. Indeed, these 10 youths discovered their true potential through the Robotics Education Program for the past 6 months. Not only they obtain precious knowledge such as basic programming skills, most importantly, they have gained self-confidence, self-esteem and dignity. They see themselves differently as they begin to have dreams to become Future Leaders.

Through breaking through the learning obstacles, Robotics Education Program helped these youths to be solution-focused and it helped them to obtained problem solving skills which are practical for their future too. Not only that, throughout these 6 months, these youths are required to worked together as a team to solve a programming problem and build a robot. They learned to accept and respect one another, be united and how to work the best as a Team.

We have finally accomplished the Phase 1 Robotics Education Program (the first 6 months), and now we are prepared for more, as one of the 10 youths, Alif, who is our top performer in the Phase 1 Robotics Class, shall be the Facilitator for the next 6 months to train another batch of youths to accomplish the Phase 1 Robotics Education Program Module.

And what more? We are so excited as Dow Chemical would like to continue in supporting the Robotics Education Program by donating a total of RM 73,567.62 to us! We foresee that we are going to anticipate more exciting journeys in the future!
