25 February 2017, KFC Sharing Moments with community at Kg. Kambug
The Spirit of Volunteerism brings everyone together for a noble cause. Besides having the volunteers from Swinburne University, we have a group of passionate volunteers from Rogue Squadron Bikers Club who come along with us, in this journey of Bringing HOPE and Changing LIVES for the rural community in Kg. Kambug.
Thanks to KFC and Add Hope Malaysia, we could bridge our love and care to the rural community in Kg. Kambug.
The community who majority worked as farmer could only earn a meager income of RM 200 to 300 monthly. This community whose homes are located at hilly areas often took two hour or so to walk to the school SK. Kambug to collect the groceries from us. And they have to carry the groceries which could supply the needs of the family for 2 to 3 months by their backs with a string hanging from their foreheads, hiking their way back homes.
Despite the challenges, the children remain at school and stay at the school's hostel, while only go home during weekends. And the hostel's facilities are now in poor condition which in need of funding for refurbishment.
The KFC Meals we brought indeed brighten up the day of the community. It warmed our hearts to see the delightful beams from the community's faces.
Thanks to All Fellow Volunteers from Swinburne University and Rogue Squadron Bikers Club for your time and dedication for this outreach program! We hope to see you all once again for many other programs in the future.

KFC Sharing Moments 2017 with HOPE worldwide Malaysia at Kampung Desa Ria
19 February 2017, KFC Sharing Moments & Orang Asli Outreach Program at Kampung Desa Ria
KFC Sharing Moments is now stepping into the 3rd consecutive year with us! Last Sunday, a total 74 volunteers which including children as young as 5 years old, bringing groceries and medication to 200 families and 118 children in Kampung Desa Ria.
Thanks to all fellow volunteers which consist of parents with children, campus student, working adults to senior citizens, it was truly an inspiring day to see everyone gather together for a good cause.
Our credit goes to the HOPE worldwide Penang's Staff and Coordinators who made the arrangement in order to assign all 74 volunteers into respective teams for their duties which are groceries and KFC meals distribution, medical team, hair washing and children activities.
As much as we are there to serve, we are so touched by the hospitality from the Orang Asli community in Kampung Desa Ria. They showed their gratitude by singing songs to welcome us. Before we left, each of them shake our hands and say Thank You to us.
We want to thank KFC for your continuous support in our cause and eventually we can continue the "Sharing Moments" program to the rural community in Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak and Sabah. We are indeed anticipating for the next outreach program!

DENSO Malaysia Volunteers Connecting Lives CSR Day
16 February 2017, DENSO Malaysia Connecting Lives CSR Day - Home Visit and Road Safety Education
33 volunteers from DENSO Malaysia gear up for home visit and road safety education for our beneficial families and the children. This event was named "Connecting Lives" CSR Day which it marked the 10th year DENSO Malaysia's CSR relationship with HOPE worldwide Malaysia!
10 years ago, HOPE worldwide Malaysia's beneficiaries were invited to DENSO Malaysia Headquarter for Deepavali celebration. Ever since, DENSO Malaysa has been actively volunteering and sponsoring the Food Distribution Program and as well conducting home visit to the beneficiaries houses.
Last Thursday, total of 33 volunteers from DENSO Malaysia brought along housekeeping tools to help cleaning the beneficiaries' houses at Rumah Panjang Jinjang Utara. The team of volunteers were also accompanied by the Plant Director of DENSO Malaysia, Mr. Yasumitsu Iwai and General Manager, Mr. Mohd Mahdzim Bin Md. Nor.
We have visited 5 families in total. Besides cleaning the house, the volunteers have had great time talking with the beneficiaries and get to know more about their lives. The volunteers also serve lunch for the beneficiaries.
After the home visit program, the volunteers continue with the next event - Road Safety Education for 30 children aged 6 to 13 years old at our centre. The program began with a slides introduction and eventually the volunteers and children were put into 5 different groups for further discussion about the importance of adhering the Road Safety rules and the effects for not obeying them. The session helped the children to have a better understanding towards risky actions and instilling positive attitude in them as responsible road users. By the end of the session, the children also received stationery from the volunteers.
Besides conducting the home visit, DENSO Malaysia also sponsored the Food Distribution Program that benefits 100 families for the month of February.
Thanks to DENSO Malaysia for your generosity and thoughtfulness. We look forward for more working opportunities in the near future to inspire and impact more needy community!
