29 March 2013, Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre Hand Cleanliness Workshop for 43 Children
A Huge Thank from all of us here in HOPE worldwide, the mothers and the children, for Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre's (SKSMC) thoughtfulness and effort in planning and conducting the Hand Cleanliness Workshop and as well, distributing groceries to 20 poor families. Last Saturday, a total of 16 volunteers from SKMC were here, to conduct Hand Cleanliness Workshop to reach out to 43 children and total 20 underprivileged families.
The hand cleanliness workshop was specially conducted to educate the children from 6 to 12 years old about the importance of hand cleanliness and how to take care of the cleanliness of their hands in daily lives. Total of 43 children from 20 poor families attended the workshop. To make the workshop lively and creative, SKMC showed a few animation videos and as well performed a dance, on how to wash their hands effectively and thoroughly, to make sure the most of the germs were eliminated through the hand washing.
After the workshop, the children and their mothers had some time in doing coloring and cross words puzzle. And then SKSMC prepared some gifts to reward and encourage the top three winners for each category.
After the workshop is done, the children and their families together with SKSMC volunteers had a great time enjoying the afternoon refreshment.
Before we called it a day, SKSMC had specially prepared groceries for 20 families. With this, on behalf of the children and families, we would like to express our gratitude to Sister Foo and Grace and all fellow volunteers who putting effort, in planning the workshop, and also making time to practice the hand washing dance for the children, the dance had indeed successfully created the awareness in the children, to take good care of the cleanliness of their hands. End of the event, we can see the children happily learning the dance from the volunteers.
