Orang Asli Outreach Program to Kampung Pos Woh, Tapah, Perak with Bahrain Students

16 Feb 2011, Food Distribution @ Orang Asli Village, Kampung Pos Woh

Right after joining the MY Reading Program on 15 Feb, the next day, we and the group of Bahrain Students made our trip to a Orang Asli Village called, Kampung Pos Woh, located near to Tapah town, and about 40 to 50 kilometres away to Cameron Highlands. It is a very beautiful place with attractive nature, such as Water Falls, greeneries and different kind of flora species.

It was a bright sunny day, and joining us we have Joey from HOPE worldwide Penang and a group of volunteers from Sungai Petani as well.

It was a great experience and we were all sweat under the hot sun, bringing loads of groceries and some clothings for the villagers. Yet, it was just so fulfilling and refreshing.

For the Bahrain Students, they all mentioned that this is something very special in their lifetime. To able to be a person to give and contribute those who are in need.

Arrival at Kampung Pos Woh, it was about 11am!

Let's pack up the groceries!

Off we begin our journey to distribute the groceries and clothing to the villagers!

It was a hot weather and I was so amazed when I able to went in one of the houses to visit the family. Inside the house, the air was just cooling, and they were not using any air-conditioner nor fan.

Helping a kids to wear a shirt that donated by one of the volunteers.

I remembered how grateful were the villagers towards out act of love, they never thought of there were people from the city would come and reach out to them.

What a day with this fruitful mission for myself, and what more for the Bahrain students who used to come from a wealthy country? I believe this was an eye-wide-opened experience for them too!

Right after this trip, the Bahrain students were preparing their way fly back to their country. It was indeed a great time together with you guys and hope to see you guys again~!

Should you were touched with the pictures and would like to find our more about our Orang Asli Outreach Program, I would like to encourage you to join our coming trip on 03 April 2011 to Kampung Bukit Asu in the North East Perak, an isolated orang asli area. This is a trip organized by our HOPE worldwide Penang, with our Free Mobile Clinic Van will drive in to provide free medication and treatment to the villagers.
