A 3-month Basketball Clinic Training Program has come to an end with a grand tournament organized among the youths.

Last Saturday, the 16 youths from Sentul together with the volunteers from Sun Life Malaysia gathered for a fun-filled day of sweat & laughter. This is the day when we witness the progress of the youths after attended the 3-month Basketball Clinic organized & sponsored by Sun Life Malaysia, in conjunction with their Corporate Responsibility's Theme this year - Brighter YOU.

Definitely, we see the transformation of these 16 youths. We see the brighter side of them, shining at the Basketball Court as they were cheering for each other, running and playing to score.

We would like to thank the two awesome coaches who were there, patiently coaching each and every youth, brushing up their playing skills. As majority of the youths who have never play basketball before, this is a great effort by the coaches who had trained them so well.

We begun the day by having warm-up & training session from 11am onward. Eventually the tournament started by 1230pm for an hour. We have the youths be divided into 4 teams with their team names named after the Superheroes: Captain America, Incredible Hulk, Thor and Iron Man.

Finally, after an hour of competition, we have the winner team - Incredible Hulk!

To close up the day, we had lunch together and we shared the moment of achievement & accomplishment.

Thanks to Sun Life Malaysia for the great effort, thoughtfulness and hard work in planning, to make this Basketball Clinic so impacting for the Youths.

Sunday Outreach to Orang Asli Community at Kg. Belihoi

23 November 2014, Orang Asli Outreach Program at Kg. Belihoi, Seremban.

We had a memorable Sunday with the Orang Asli Community in Kg. Belihoi, furthermore, this time, we had KFC Meals to share with them! Thanks to one of our volunteers who sponsored 80 KFC Meals to the Orang Asli Community. It's school holiday season, so we thought we could make this season to be more joyful for the Orang Asli Community.

At first, all of us gathered at the Mydin Hypermarket to purchase groceries and basic necessities. Thanks to the helpful volunteers for helping us in running the errands. After that, with the assistance from Mydin's workers, we loaded up all the groceries in our cars. From there, we departed to Kg Belihoi.

When we were there, the almost the entire village of the community came and carry the groceries and KFC Meals from our cars. The kids were overjoyed to see us distributing the KFC meals to them and their families.

We also want to thank two of our volunteers, who are hairstylists in profession, spent their time to provide free haircut for a few children.

It was a fun-filled and joyful moments with the community in Kg. Belihoi. With this, we would like to thank our faithful volunteer facilitators in Seremban - Aunty Jena, Bruce and June, we have been tirelessly coordinating the Food Distribution Program for the undeprivileged community in Seremban.

Starbucks Community Development Project - Kg Lubok Jaya Community Computer Program Graduation

25 October 2014, Graduation Ceremony for 1st Semester Students - Kg. Lubok Jaya Community Development Project by Starbucks Malaysia

Since our first Cpmputer class started in September at Kg. Lubok Jaya Community Computer Centre, we have had great time with the children for the past 2 months. Not only that, we also got to train a community facilitator who is also a teacher to teach the children for upcoming sessions.

And now, we close up the chapter of 1st Semester (Sep to Oct), as we prepared for the next Semester by the month of November, we would like to encourage this group of children with a simple graduation ceremony.

Thanks Starbucks Malaysia for your CSR Initiatives that brings impact and knowledge to the children who lived in rural area like Kg. Lubok Jaya. We look forward to continue to train more children in upcoming sessions.

ATP Malaysia Open Players "Incredible Indian Moment" with HOPE worldwide at Makan Kitchen

24 September 2014, ATP Malaysia Open Players and kids from HOPE worldwide Malaysia shared a moment of making Indian Delicacies at Makan Kitchen, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur

Makan Kitchen, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur’s signature restaurant, has been turned into a mini arena where ATP World Tour tennis players battle it out with each other in a friendly culinary match. Ernests Gulbis and Pablo Andujar were paired with their little partners from HOPE Worldwide Malaysia as they’re tasked with making one of Malaysia’s all-time favourite breakfast – the roti canai accompanied with teh tarik.

Children & Adults Sing with Happiness at Mary Kay Seminar 2014

13 September 2014, Cheque Presentation to HOPEww & Children Choir Performance at Mary Kay Seminar 2014

Children Choir Performance marked the height of Mary Kay Seminar 2014's atmosphere as the Children and Adults sang and danced together for the song - "If You Are Happy and You Know it!"

In conjunction with Mary Kay's Global CSR Initiatives - Beauty that Counts, HOPE worldwide Malaysia is selected to be the beneficial NGO in Malaysian's Chapter. The funds was raised through the sales of the Limited Edition Fragrance of Beauty that Counts Campaign, In total, Mary Kay had raised a total of RM 30,000.00 for HOPE worldwide Malaysia's Food Distribution Program that impacted 100 low income group families from all races in Sentul.

Hence, total of 22 children from Sentul were invited to attend the Mary Kay Seminar 2014, to share the glorious moment of Cheque Presentation with a donation of RM 30,000.00. To grace this occasion, the Children of HOPE, formed a Choir Performance, which eventually made all Beauty Consultants and Sales Directors of Mary Kay sang and danced together.

By the end of the performance, the Children of HOPE presented a bookmark for the guests and delegates of the seminar, as a token of appreciation from HOPE worldwide Malaysia.

Sun Life Malaysia Basketball Clinic for the underprivileged youths

06 September 2014, Basketball Clinic (1st Session) at Garden International School, Mont Kiara

And here we kick start our very first session of Basketball Clinic. Indeed, the very first time for HOPE worldwide Malaysia to have Basketball Sports activities (after Football for HOPE Program).

We want to thank Sun Life Malaysia, for making this happened for the teenagers. As the Basketball Clinic is part of Sun Life Malaysia's 2014 CSR Initiatives with us.

It was a great session we had together with the teenagers, enjoyed themselves so much. Not the teenagers from Sentul, the volunteers from Sun Life Malaysia attended the training too. The credit goes to the awesome Basketball Coaches who made the session so competitive, fun and exciting. It draws everyone's spirit to be together throughout the 2-hours training session.

The Basketball Clinic is an on-going program, twice in a month, for a duration of 4 months until the end of the year, the teenagers will be sent to participate in a Basketball Tournament.
