23 July 2016, UTAR Early Childhood Students volunteered in MY Reading Program
It's all begin with an intention to complete an assignment, a group of 6 first year students from University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)'s Early Childhood Faculty, giving their best in planning early childhood activities for children in the MY Reading Program and as well a series of fundraising activities, eventually raised about RM 6,000.00 for HOPE worldwide Malaysia. Not only that, part of the funding was utilized in purchasing groceries that benefit 20 low income families.
Last Saturday, this group of campus students became Teachers of the Day, spent a memorable afternoon with the children aged 6 to 9 years old in MY Reading Program, organizing a few activities which include story telling, fitness dancing and games. One of the sessions, the kids got to make their own storybooks. The volunteers also prepared goodies bags and snacks to encourage the children.
We would like to express our gratitude all the fellow campus student in your passion in this outreach program. We hope to work with you all again in the future!

KFC & Volunteers Sharing Moments of Joy with SK Kambug Community during Raya Holidays
KFC & Pizza Hut Sharing Moments with the community at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kambug, Padawan, Kuching
During this Raya Holiday, a group of 25 volunteers from Swinburne University Charity Cruiser Club (SCCC), reached out to 50 families at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kambug, Padawan. Thanks to KFC, Pizza Hut and World Hunger Relief Malaysia, we are able to bring in KFC Meals and Groceries for this rural community.
We also want to thank Mr. Lawrence, the Headmaster of SK Kambug, who extended your support and welcome us with open arms.
SK Kambug is located at one of rural areas in Padawan, it took about 1.5 hours for us to travel from Kuching to reach the school. The 50 families who received the groceries supply are low income family group with average monthly income of RM 250 to 350.00
Some of the families who received the groceries, whose homes are at the hilly villages, shall take them about 2 hours to walk home while carrying their groceries.
It warms our hearts as the children receive the KFC Meals with joyful smile on their faces.
Thanks to all fellow volunteers from Swinburne Charity Cruiser Club (SCCC) who have given your time and heart, in reaching out to the families and children, who have made this festive season a memorable one for them.
